A |     (ECNS) -- The 6th Qinghai-Xizang Plateau Development Forum opened on Tuesday in Haiyan County, Haibei Zang Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China’s Qinghai Province.    Co-hosted by the China Tibetology Research Center, leading academic institutions and local governments, the two-day event brought together nearly 50 senior officials and prominent scholars from major universities and research institutes.        Participants held in-depth discussions on promoting long-term stability and high-quality development across the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau under the framework of the Chinese path to modernization.    Key topics included protecting the region as a vital national ecological security barrier, improving local livelihoods, promoting high-quality population development, integrating the development of national parks with surrounding communities, advancing rural revitalization following ecological relocation, and fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.    The forum aims to provide practical, evidence-based policy recommendations to support sustainable and locally adapted modernization across the plateau.     (By Helen Mo, intern Lin Qiaochu)                    。    New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) Supreme Court granted the Centre two weeks time to respond and make its stand clear before it to a batch of petitions challenging the validity of the 1991 Places of Worship Act.

A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit, asked the Central government to file its reply within two weeks.

"You (Centre) file your reply to the petitions. We will hear the case after that," the CJI Lalit said, and fixed the matter for further hearing to November 14.

The Top Court asked the Centre to filenits reply, after hearing a batch of petitions, including that of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and lawyer Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay.

The Supreme Court asked the Centre to file its reply in the case, as the Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, senior law officer representing the Union government, told the Top Court that given the sensitivity of the caae and the parameters involved in it, we need time.

The Supreme Court, which was hearing the batch or petitions challenging the validity of the 1991 Places of Worship Act, today, after asking the Centre to makenits stand clear in the issue, fixed the matter for further hearing to November 14.
